Bringing a slither of Americana to proceedings is new Californian acoustic singer Stevie Talks. At first listen new single 'Pollyanna' could be mistaken for a country-style love song, however if you hone in on the lyrics it's actually a massive '"screw you" to an ex-girlfriend, who presumably is called Pollyanna. Full of harsh observations, the warmth of the music is almost completely ironic. What are straightforward though, are Talks' beautiful vocals and the lush uplifts in the chord changes. Even though she's got a song written about her, we're certainly not jealous of his Pollyanna. He's served his revenge up stunningly. - SJ
